Well let put it like this, it looks better than my old sony 60" I've had in the past. I am amazed at all the picture tuning you can do for a beast like this.Add the fact that it is 3D ready just waiting for the adapter to come out for it. When I play fight night round 4 it feels like I'm watching it on tv instead of playing the game. Also I suggest you get the matching stand to with it. All tho I didn't buy mines from Amazon, bought it from Costco I came out on top I paid 1299 for tv and stand there is no way in hell you gonna find a deal like that, but really if you are into big screeners for your basement i really recommend you get one of these or the 82"er trust me if I had a few more thousands in my pocket i would jump for the 82"er. my only down side to this tv is the remote, its quite boring but my onkyo remote takes care of all that and there is no USB slot but not an big issue. To really appreciate the picture quality i suggest you sit down and play with the picture set up. Bad because someone said you can not hang on my wall lmao wadoeji the TV does not often you better not be disappointed ......

The state in a big box because it was fully assembled (for the most part). All you have to do is mount the horizontal bar (the support bracket), the screw in a pair of brackets for the horizontal bar, and put the shelf on the counter. That's it. This lasted only a few minutes to make. Overall, the fit and finish and excellent production quality is excellent. However, it is rather expensive for what it's worth. from $ 400 dollars for a TV seems high (and $ 500Some dealers are charging for is just ridiculous).

However, I am very satisfied, especially because custom made Mitsubishi DLP TV, and was for all intents and purposes, fully assembled (plus free shipping ... that was upwards of $ 50-100 are right there). I recommend this as a good investment for Mitsubishi 73 "Home Theater TV that were designed for. By the way, if you can keep everyone else out there, I found it ratherhard to find, maintain a good, which was a TV of this size ... most seem to be designed for 65 "LCD or less. So this is one of the few choices available for a TV 73" or higher. Still a good recovery, though.

On a related note, when I advertise with one of the TV setup and installation Amazon ... $ 100 for TV installation and assembly furniture for an additional $ 99 I'm glad I do not think it was really nothing to assemble furniture-wise, and Iasked the driver to install on TV (which I just bought the TV today because I had time to do the configuration of the stand for the first) I wanted ... He said that generally Unbox, and put on the stand for you (but not the connections, the picture settings, etc.). If you are technically inclined (there are usually no more then to connect AV equipment, if you do not have a theater setup too complex), and may be one or two hours Adjusting the TV picture to spend as you wish, you can save $ 218 on Wirelessand service furniture assembly.

Mitsubishi has to be the most debated TV manufacturer in history. Search for any of these models and you will find hours worth of reading, both positive and negative. The negative made me debate it for 7 months. In that time I took three dozen trips to BB and Fry's to compare, and even became buddies with a manager at my local Fry's. He even let me take my PS3 into the store to compare it on different screens. I also read all those hours of debating technologies, so let me condense it all and share with you my experience. Now each individual experiences screens differently, so do go to compare, but here is what I noticed.

Plasma uses dots to make the screen. Once I became aware of the dots, I couldn't watch without seeing them. It was too distracting, unless I was very far away, beyond the proper viewing distance. They also offer no 3D models for 2009-2010. Furthermore, for my needs, being a gamer with PS3, 360, Wii, and a PC that plays MAME and other off resolution games, the Plasma's "possible" burn-in, and limited display resolutions put it in 3rd place. Sure all the companies will say they have improved the burn-in, but the possibility is still there.

LCD was clearly the clearest, with sharp vibrant colors, no dots that could be seen (unless your face was on the TV). I really couldn't tell a difference (other than brightness) between the normal LCD and the "LED" versions (see my note below btw), and the 2010 models are going back to non-glare screens instead of glossy. Sharp and Toshiba never did glossy, but Samsung and Sony did... and they look terrible, you can see yourself watching the TV. However technology wise, LCD also suffers from the same limited display resolutions as Plasma, along with small size compared to DLP, and the 3D models are absurdly overpriced.

DLP, while being able to display an array of resolutions, seemed like it had faded colors compared to the others. However, this was before I learned about the different series Mitsubishi makes. And regardless of colors, the shear size versus price is amazing. I also could not see any dots when up close, even with my face against the screen (it just got fuzzy).

So the debate was between the top of the line Samsung LCD's, the largest Sharp Aqueous LCD, the just out 3D Panasonic LCD's, and the 73" Mitsubishi DLP (83 was too much). I also took into account that many manufacturers are about to make much larger LCD screens for 2010-2011. Vizio is about to release a 50+ screen for around 2k, that is 3D ready. Not bad.

However, I took the DLP plunge and couldn't be happier. The screen is huge. In fact if you plan on sitting 8 feet or closer get a LCD. Too close and you will see fragmentation in everything you watch, except Blu-Ray. From the proper distance, SD channels look like a CRT, games and pc look like LCD, and HD channels and Blu-Ray literally look like you are there. I was in the Jay Leno audience last night.

Now what about the faded colors at the store? Most stores carry the lower grade series TV's that lack certain features. But the "Diamond Line" 837's have black and color enhancers that really make the screen pop. I hooked-up a tiny Samsung LCD to compare and it looks the same. Netflix through the PS3 looks crystal clear. This is truly the best choice for those who use a variety of entertainment technologies.

For gamers, DLP also has no lag between controller commands and on screen movement. I mean DLP is in nanoseconds, and the best LCD is still 2 milliseconds (meaning it's slower). That's a big difference in precise-movement games. Another thing I liked is that Mitsubishi's change the channel instantly. I hate how some manufacturers have a lag as you channel surf. DLP's also have no glass, so a well lit room or window, won't cause glare. In fact at Fry's they will punch the TV to prove it's durability. You can also set your DLP to environmentally friendly mode (an excellent rating btw) and leave it on all day for your pets, without worrying that your entire TV's life span is fading (just the 100 dollar bulb). Actually beside the bulb, DLP mechanics will last much longer than the other technologies. When you replace the bulb it's like a new TV again. With LCD and Plasma, when it dies, you buy a new set.

Now as a technophile, I was concerned about the 3D, as there is no set standard home users will use. Mitsubishi uses Checkerboard, as does nVidia's 3D kit (meaning the kit works right with the Mitsu TV). Checkerboard is also used by other off-brand 3D kit makers. However, what the standard becomes may not be Checkerboard, so to compensate Mitsubishi's own 3D kit will take any other 3D technology and convert it to Checkerboard, so there is security in the your 3D future. I'm ordering the nVidia version next month, as it changes many pc games to 3D. Future Mitsubishi's will come with the kit built in... mine did not.

One last thing my techno buddies crabbed about was the depth of DLP, "you can't hang it on the wall," they said. Correct, the TV is about 18 inches deep, and shouldn't be placed on/in a wall anyway, as it needs cool air like a computer does. But with all my gaming systems, a pc, a UPS battery back-up, games, movies, and a stereo that all fits in my TV stand, why would I hang the TV on the wall anyway? If your a minimalist that hides electronics, you shouldn't be buying a 73" anything.

If you're on the fence, don't compare the store brand C-series or 737 series, to other technologies, as the others will look better. Spend 400+ more and get the 837 series. It is perfect. I also read complaints about the speakers (on all new TV's actually), however the 837 has a built-in speaker upgrade which sounds great, and I believe the newer models, 2011, are even better.

Oh, and as for those negative reviews... look at the dates, they are all about models in the year's past. Every year DLP improves, and Mitsubishi's 2009-2010 models are highly rated for quality and energy use. Every brand has had bad years. So in the end, no TV technology is perfect, and again your eye is what matters the most... however as of June 2010, I feel that this model DLP (wd-73837) is the best choice for multi-technology users, unless you want the 83". It looks amazing, it does 3D, and besides bulbs, will outlast other TV's.

And just a side note, the so called "LED TV's" (produced by Samsung) are just LCD's illuminated by LED's, instead of CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps). They are not in fact real LED TV's. Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) is the construction of the display, regardless of how light passes through it. If I used a fire to illuminate a LCD, it's not all the sudden a COMBUSTION TV.

True LED TV's, which use only OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) will self illuminate, utilizing an internal thin layer of LED for its display only. Meaning only LED's will make and display images. For practical buying purposes, these TV's are years away. The best you can buy right now is about 10" wide, and costs over 20k.

I hope this review helps you in making any decisions and sorry for the length, but I really... really did my homework on this one and wanted to save you time. If you are reading this in 2011, make sure you debate all those new larger LCD 3 - D 5 bids for the Vizio so than in other parts of the most kilometers

Incredible.

The image of this TV simply blows away my two 1080p LCD!

And the price is unbeatable.

My kids play on XBOX 360 and now it is these "zombie" first a film.

We do not even know that were connected / calibrated all the way yet, but the colors / sharpness is simply amazing!

And the surround sound is actually very good (I'm going to Bose link later ...)

Remote on this TV is definitelyterrible (especially at the beginning) - but once you read the manual and test the keys, there are certainly a number of useful features ...

USB input is very nice - they already have a connection to my PC and run a few slideshows of my digital images - AWESOME!

Yes, there are problems with the lamp (which eventually burn out) - Mitsubishi, but this one slipped quite easy in & out cartridge. So, either buy a light bulb or buying an extended warranty (IFour years. for $ 99, covers up to $ 1500).

TV is close to $ 1000 and free shipping I would try to tip ...

I would find any other similar technology, the size for that price.

And since that will be used mainly by children, why pay more?

I mean, a new lamp is always put on a new TV for several years.

And if 3D really get going, there's a slot drive and glasses (these sentences using DLP, which is using the Festivalbut the current standard is chess, you must spend some. $ 300 more for the 3D - again, check prices for 3D integrated and tell me you're willing to pay for this!)

They are also my satellite provider DirecTV, and finally have a 3-D & I offer no problem with the current BluRay heard. Again, I wait, knowing that I have a 3D-capable TV.

The only real thing is better LED - if this child was part of my "adult" home theater, bonus room,"Man Cave" - I could see.

But it is in "cave boy" ... where my children are now ... SMILING from ear to ear!

This is a great set overall. We have been using it as our main set for the past 4 months and have no issues with it. The main thing is the picture which is super; whether using our satellite, DVD or blue-ray. Sound quality is OK; not great but certainly not bad. We are amazed at how light it is for such a large screen. We have a recessed area in our den for a TV an it fits perfectly in this space - filling it completely. It is almost like it was made just for this set.

It takes a while to boot up, maybe 15 seconds or so, but once it is on the picture is fantastic. There is a bit of the "rainbow" effect that DLP's are known for but it is not a problem for us and no one who watches the set ever mentions it. This effect is none existent during the day but becomes more pronounced as the room gets darker (ie: at night). If you are not familiar with this, it only happens when you QUICKLY look away. If you are watching the set, there is no rainbow at all. We have also noted that there is a BIG difference in picture quality depending on what receiver box it is hooked up to. Our first was a DVR (non-HD) from Directv which was good and then that one failed on us, while we were waiting for a replacement we hooked up a standard box from Directv and that picture was terrible. Then the "new" DRV (non-HD) was received and it has a superior picture. You would think that the same signal would yield the same quality, but we noticed a big variance - go figure.

PROS:
- Great picture. Blue ray is unreal!
- No motion artifacts / jitter that we saw on LCD or Plasma sets. Even the 240Hz had some of this.
- Light weight.
- All screen! Almost zero boarder.
- Incredible amount of user set up options.
- 3D ready (although we have no experience with this to share).
- Fantastic color rendition. Much better than anything else we have seen.
- Great image depth.
- Cost. You will not find anything even close to this set for this price. DLP rocks!

CONS:
- Not a flat screen. You won't be hanging this on the wall.
- Some "rainbow" effect. It does not bother us at all.
- Best viewed straight on (which is how we use it). Some picture degradation to the side.

Some have stated that they hear the light wheel. Ours is dead quiet.
Some have mentioned the "blinking green led". No problem with ours.

Bottom line - if something happened to this set, We will purchase

The Good

Beautiful photo # 1080p
# Absolutely prices to $ 800
# 3 HDMI inputs, 1 coaxial
# No motion blur, no burn-in
HDTV tuner #
# Built-in universal remote control (both worked for my Toshiba DVD player and stereo JVC)
# Adjustments Color In-Depth

# Much better than my previous horizontal viewing angle (62 "1080i WD-62725)
# The remote is the form factor better than the previous model
# The device is not as deep as the previous model
Half #the weight of the previous model

The Bad

# Do not RCA, SVIDEO and VGA inputs (RCA no ??!!) instead of 2 (semi-useless) component inputs
# No Picture-in-picture
# No Screen Protector (reduces glare at the expense of less protection for the screen)

other thoughts

The lack of RCA and S Video, I could hook half of my entertainment system without the use of an external video switcher. Pure idiocy seems to omit RCA inputs, asare still the most common output devices video.

I had a hard time buying this product. I purchased from Amazon and it came first with a damaged screen. Amazon was sold out, so that he could not fill my order. The refund must return two or three weeks. BestBuy had a field, but has refused to send in Cleveland. I finally found the TV at Dell.com field and managed to recover a $ 100 price at Amazon, but it was the beginning of the tax paid, who was bornhalf of the savings.

I like the sleek look of the combination of TV + Base. You see well together, and I like how the TV securely attached to the base. I'm nervous, spilling large TVs that these are just sitting on a piece of furniture. This base has a slot at the top of the TV is on slide base, and the TV is screwed into the base for added stability. The glass has a metal support bar beneath him, that my Panasonic TV + lacked basis.

My order was processed byOneCall and was delivered in perfect condition. I am very happy with the TV stand (and the performance of the TV, too happy, for that matter).

The stand arrived in a large box, because it's fully assembled (for the most part). All you have to do is mount the horizontal bar (to support the adjustable shelf), screw in a couple of support brackets for the horizontal bar, and put the shelf on the bar. That's it. This took just a couple of minutes to do. Overall, the fit and finish is excellent, and the build quality is excellent too. However, it's rather expensive for what it's worth. 0 dollars for a TV stand seems high (and 0 that some retailers are charging for it is simply ridiculous).

Nevertheless, I'm very happy with it, especially since it's custom made for Mitsubishi DLP TVs; and was, for all intents and purposes, fully assembled (plus shipping was free...that could be upwards of -100 right there). I highly recommend this as a good investment for the Mitsubishi 73" home theater TV's that this stand was designed for. Besides, if you consider all the other stands out there, I found it rather difficult to find a good one that would even hold a TV of this size...most seem to be designed for 65" or less LCD's. So this may be one of the few choices available for a TV 73" or larger. Still a good pick, however.

On a related note, I considered using one of the TV setup and installation services Amazon advertises...0 for TV setup, and furniture assembly for an additional . I'm glad I didn't consider this, because there was really nothing to assemble furniture-wise, and I asked the driver about TV setup (I just purchased the TV today, because I wanted to have time to setup the stand for it first)...he said they typically unbox it, and place it on the stand for you (but no hookups, picture adjustments, etc). If you're technically-inclined (there typically isn't much to hooking up AV equipment, unless you have an overly-complex theater setup), and can spend an hour or two adjusting the TV's picture to your liking, then you can save the 8 over using the hookup Furniture and services.

OK ... Only then moved two new TVs, I was back and forth over 60In MITS or 58in Samsung plasma for the living room. I read all the reviews, looked at plasma, LCD ... seemed the answer to simple, I hang on the wall, so it does not matter to my ENT 16inches deep. So I saved $ 800 and got the MITS .. small problem with a long wait for delivery, a 37in LCD Panasonic came in a couple of days .. almost two weeks for the MITS. OK, it turned out, turned and sweet ... Crisp HD picture ... Sports are almost3D already ... but if you want true 3D, it is ready .. set-up was fairly simple. I work with DirecTV HD DVD and VCR and a video recorder .. DirecTV and the picture quality on DVD not Blu-Ray, excellent .. VCR-and non-HD channels are poor. This is strictly on the screen 60In .. The weaknesses are few square inches, so a poor source of a photo is very great evil. The same goes for HD, a very large image excellent. The only change you want to do to you is: Push-up menu, press ENTER with "image" and thenPress to select "Picture Mode" Insert and change the "natural" .. Is set to "Hell" or "brilliant" to display Store, a bit 'too bright for me almost a certain distortion that bright. All other factory settings are good for my eye, but you can adjust everything and end up with a screw press of a button to go back presets. The installation DVD and VCR bone was simple, if you do not get a picture or a sound or a color image, check the manual for troubleshooting and links. HDMIThe cables are sweet, elderly composite connections, check the manual and the video cable is now yellow-green, do not ask why. The sound is pretty good, I was a little bass boost ', otherwise no problem. I was waiting on a bar sound, or thought a cheap wireless decent 7.1 system, but, as I am satisfied with the sound. If you want, most have a large image and equal or better to buy plasma, save it. To cover my bases, I also purchased the 4 year warranty ... and yet$ 100 is filed ..

The state in a big box because it was fully assembled (for the most part). All you need do is to mount the horizontal bar (support bracket), screw in a couple of mounts for the horizontal bar, and put the shelf on the counter. That's it. This lasted only a few minutes to make. Overall, the fit and finish and excellent production quality is excellent. However, it is rather expensive for what it's worth. from $ 400 dollars for a TV seems high (and $ 500Some dealers are charging for is just ridiculous).

However, I am very happy with him, especially since made custom Mitsubishi DLP TV, and was for all intents and purposes, fully assembled (plus shipping is free ... Could that upwards of $ 05.10 will be there). I recommend this as a good investment for Mitsubishi 73 "Home Theater TV that were designed for. By the way, if you can keep everyone else out there, I found Ratherhard to find, maintain a good, which was a TV of this size ... most seem to be designed for 65 "LCD or less. So this is one of the few choices available for a TV 73" or higher. Still a good recovery, though.

On a related note, when I advertise with one of the TV setup and installation Amazon ... $ 100 for the TV setup and installation of furniture for an additional $ 99 I'm glad I do not think it was really nothing to assemble furniture-wise, and Iasked the driver to install on TV (which I just bought the TV today because I have time, the installation of the first booth) wanted ... He said that generally Unbox, and put on the stand for you (but not the connections, the picture settings, etc.). If you are technically-inclined (there are usually no more than to connect AV equipment, unless you have a theater setup too complex), and may be one or two hours Adjusting the TV picture to spend as you wish, you can Save $ 218 on Wirelessand service furniture assembly.

I placed an order for this article SHOPUST and almost a week after I placed the order they raised their prices and deleted my existing order, even if they were in stock.

Update 13th June 2010:

I also tried the supplier order "6ave. It 'actually delivered (via UPS, which is not very good at dealing with unusually large or heavy items - and that was for both). Not surprisingly, the element has been destroyed transit and returned to 6ave UPS, even beforereach my house. 6ave had no more in stock. I do not know if this is a coincidence or if they usually only one of these parts at a time, but in both cases I came at the behest of a third company, in fact my hands on one.

Eventually I ended up buying from Crutchfield. And 'cost a bit' more, but it was super fast (and delivered intact) through a transmission accustomed to dealing with objects of this size and weight have.

My recommendation: if youare an order online, you save yourself trouble and find out how the vendor plans to ship first.

Now the product itself:

I bought it, use a Mitsubishi 82 "TV. The TV fits perfectly on it, matching the style of TV and the media is very robust. I would definitely buy this new stand. The only thing that would Improve If the shelf were well controlled.

Mitsubishi has the most talked about producers in television history. Finding one of these models and you will find hours worth of reading, both positive and negative. The debate made me negative for seven months. During this period I made three dozen trips to compare BB and Fry, and was also a manager friend at my local Fry. He even had my PS3 to the store to compare the various screens. I also read all those hours discussing technology, so I may condense alland share with you my experience. Now, each experience different screens to compare again, but here's what I noticed.

Plasma uses dots on the screen. Once I was aware of the points, I could not see without observing them. He was too distracted when I was not very far away on the correct view. Nor do they provide 3D models for the period 2009-2010. Also, for my needs, with a player with the PS3, 360, Wii and PC games that MAME and other offgames resolution, the plasma is "possible" burn-placed, and confined him in the third screen resolutions Place. Make sure that all companies say they have improved the burn-in, but the possibility is still there.

LCD was clear as clear, sharp with bright colors, no points to be seen (unless your face on TV was able to do so). I could not really tell the difference (except brightness) between the normal LCD and the "LED" versions (see my comment below, BTW) and go for 2010 modelsBack to the antiglare screen instead of glossy. Sharp and Toshiba is never polished, but Samsung and Sony ... and they look terrible, you can watch the same TV. However, as technology, LCD also suffers from the same limited screen resolutions, such as plasma, along with smaller than DLP, and 3D models are ridiculously overpriced.

DLP, although capable of displaying a series of resolutions, as it seemed, had faded colors in comparison to others. However, this wasI first learned about the different series Mitsubishi ago. And, regardless of color, the gap between the size and the price is amazing. Also, I could not see when all the points in close, even with my face on the screen (which was fuzzy).

So the debate between the flagship model of Samsung LCD Sharp LCD's largest water, right from 3D Panasonic LCD and 73 "DLP Mitsubishi (83 too). I also considered that the producers are too many to make much largest LCDScreens for 2010-2011. Vice refers to a + 50-screen ready for release around 2k, so 3D. Not bad.

However, I dip the DLP and could not be happier. The screen is huge. In fact, if you will be 8 feet or sitting near a monitor. Too close and there will be fragmentation in everything you see, if not to see Blu-Ray. From the proper distance, watching SD channels, such as a CRT, LCD and PC games look and HD channels and Blu-Ray literally look like you are. I was inJay Leno audience last night.

Well, what about the faded colors on your business? Most stores carry the TV series can lower miss some functions. But the "Diamond Line" have 837 black and color enhancers that really pop on the screen. compare I connected a small Samsung LCD, and it seems the same. Netflix seems crystal clear through the PS3. This is really the best choice for those who use a variety of entertainment technologies.

For the players, and did not DLPDelay between the control commands on the screen, and movement. I mean DLP is in nanoseconds, and the best LCD is still two milliseconds (ie, slower). This is a big difference in games of precise movement. Another thing is that I liked Mitsubishi change the channel immediately. I hate it, as some producers of late, as you surf channels. DLP is not a glass, then a well-lit window or does not cause glare. In fact, Fry's Punch their TV show on the shelf. You can alsoPut your environmentally friendly manner DLP (an excellent rating left BTW) and all day for your pets, and do not worry that your life is fading TV (only the light bulb $ 100). In fact, in addition to mechanical DLP bulb is much longer than other technologies. If you replace the bulb is like a new TV. With LCD and plasma, but if it dies, you buy a new sentence.

Now, as a technophile, I was worried for 3D, because it set no standard user homeuse. Mitsubishi uses Checker Board, as well as nVidia 3D kit (ie kit works well with the Mitsu-TV). Chess is also used by other off-brand makers 3D Kit But this is not chess are, so to compensate for the Mitsubishi 3D-Kit, any other 3D technology to take and convert it into a chessboard, so that security in the future in 3D . With this month for the next Nvidia, as there are many changes to the 3D PC games. The future will come from Mitsubishibuilt with the kit in. .. My does not.

One last thing my fellow techno acid was not the depth of the DLP, "you can hang on the wall," he said. Correct, the TV is about 18 cm deep, and should not be at place in a wall anyway, because it needs fresh air like a computer works. But all my gaming systems, PC, a UPS battery back-up, games, movies and a stereo That everything fits in my TV stand, why should the TV on the wall at all? If your a minimalist who hidesElectronically, you should not buy a 73 "anything.

If you're on the fence, not to be compared, the commercial brand C-series or 737 series, with other technologies, like the other look better. 400 + spend more and get the 837 series. That's perfect. I also read complaints about the speaker (of all new TV is really), but the 837 has a speaker upgrade, that sounds great, and I think the newer models, 2011, are even better.

Oh, and how these negative reviews ...Look at the dates are all models of the past. Each year, Mitsubishi 2009-2010 DLP and improved models are valued for the quality and energy consumption. Each brand has had bad years. So in the end, no technology is perfect TV, and then your eye is clear, what matters most ... However, since June 2010, I, that this model DLP (WD-73837) is the best choice for multi-user technology is the feeling when the 83 "want. Sounds great, it's 3D, and with the exception of onions, will outlast otherTV.

And just a side note, the "LED TV (manufactured by Samsung) LCD are only lit by LEDs instead of CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps). They are, in fact, not real LED TV. Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) is the structure of the display, regardless of how light through it. If I were a light to illuminate an LCD display is not all the sudden combustion of a television.

True LED TV, the only OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) is used by youlight, using a thin internal LED for display only. Meaning only LEDs make and display images. to buy For all practical purposes, this TV years later. The best you can buy now is about 10 cm wide, and cost over 20k.

I hope this post will help you with all decisions and sorry for the length, but I really ... really do their homework on this and wanted to save you time. If you read this, are for 2011, ensure that all new wider debateLCD 3D came out, other than as Vice, where the proposed cost about 5k.

I own or have owned several DLPs. I have a 58" Panasonic Plasma, and several smaller LCDs. People don't seem to understand the size TV that is required to see a full 1080P from their viewing distance. I sit 14 feet away from the set. A 65" wasn't big enough, a 72" was not big enough. Heck the WD-82837 is not large enough. I really need a 100" set for my viewing distance. The big Mits is one heck of a bargain. It has great blacks, will calibrate to nearly reference levels. Do it yourself if you have the test gear or get an experience ISF certified calibrator to do it for you. I bought the Mits at my local Best Buy. There price was very good and I got a bazillion reward points.

The only other set available in this size is an 84" Panny Plasma. If you have to ask the price, forget about it.

I love this TV, but it has one tremendous weakness. You should understand what you are buying when you buy this set. You are buying a fantastic movie experience. If you have a bright sunny room and you are looking to watch a lot of weekend sports on sunny afternoons you will hate it. Well, maybe you won't hate it. But if you are demanding of accurate color, and high brightness levels at that same time out of a TV, then this set is challenged. It can make a fair amount of light, but it does so only in the "Brilliant", or "Bright" modes, which are fine for people who like the store "Torch" modes. Unfortunately these modes are far from accurate. You will need to use Advanced or Natural modes, the sets clips green, when configured in an accurate mode and you really crank the brightness. You can go accurate, or very bright, you can't have both.

This is a big set and it has the same lamp as the smaller Mits DLPs, obviously Mits had to cut a corner somewhere to sell a set this big for the price. To do both superbright, and still make highly accurate color, the set needed a higher wattage lamp. There are two lamp settings. One is Energy Star, the other is Bright. If you want to get the most out of the set, choose the Bright setting for the lamp. DLPs are economical on power consumption so you are not loosing much by setting the lamp to Bright. Don't be confused by the terminology, the lamp setting of Bright and the picture mode Bright are two different things. You can run the TV in Bright mode and the lamp mode in Bright, do that if you really need the set to put out a lot of light. The problem is that the Bright picture mode is way to blue, if you calibrate in Bright mode to make the color accurate you will end up decreasing the brightness. You can't really have both maximum brightness, and maximum accuracy.

This is not the easiest set to fully calibrate. If you want to get it very accurate on color and grayscle, and you will need to know what you are doing. For most folks that means and ISF certified tech, look on AVSForum, the best ones in the country travel. Although calibration is not a walk in the park, when it is calibrated, it looks fantastic. In theater type lighting, this set when calibrated will give you the shivers.

I have a dim living room, even with a bunch of windows. I don't watch much TV during the day. For me the weakness in terms of maximum brightness is not an issue. I bought this set for cinema. You really have to compare this TV with a front projector. Front projectors make much less light than this set does. It is a great Home Theater display and a mediocre display for sunny Sunday afternoon with all the blinds open. But if you want to see 1080P and your room does not allow you sit 8 feet away this set is the answer to a videophile's prayers.

Sure if I could have afforded the K for the 84" Panny Plasma, I would have gone that direction. My room makes a front projector impossible, and my budget means I could never afford the 84" Panny Plasma. This is the only game in town folks. It is a big TV, with a superb movie experience, and it can be bought for relative peanuts compared to the only other option, the Panny. I am very demanding on picture quality. This set can knock you out if it is set up right. I spent less than K on this set and I have a DVDO DUO Video Processor feeding it. I am using ChromaPure software and a Chroma 5 Colorimeter to calibrate it . The set, the Video Processor, and the Calibration equipment altogether was about 5 grand, there is just nothing like it for the money. My only regret about the TV is that it 100 simulate the light is too big a company is small, my hands can transfer.

When it comes to TV in the living room, bigger is always better that way, when the time came to replace our 61 "Samsung DLP I had no idea what would be my next TV, several were about to be larger, and sure, I wanted to allow. Mitsubishi WD-73737 was the winner and for this reason:

- Size - good, 73 "is larger than 61", right? As far as I know there are many LCD or plasma TVs of this size, at least not anything I can do what. Our living room is rathergreat - really most of our first floor (open architecture), so you better have a big screen. Mitsubishi makes a 82 "model, but I had to take into consideration ...
- Rate - we have a clear winner. Whether it is for price / size, DLP, by far the least expensive option.
- Include energy efficiency - according to my research, the WD-73 737 burns about 265W when 'on' (this is the 180W lamp). In comparison, requires a 70 "LCD to use 540-630W.
- Ability 3D - is amore potential. Mitsubishi does not guarantee that your TV is with the standard 3D is in development, but compliant ... could.

Of course, not everything is perfect so here are the potential "negative":

- Lamp - when it comes to 'come cost of ownership, we must factor DLP's lamp. The manual Mitsubishi expects its lamp can last for about a year, but our Samsung was still good after two years so with the original lamp, we'll see. A replacement for this modeldirectly from Mitsubishi is $ 99 and I will get a free under the warranty, if the original needs to be replaced before a year. Given the large energy savings compared to LCD TVs, I'm not too much to replace it under the lamp occasionally worried.
- BULK - this sentence is more than 90 pounds. heavy and more than 12 "at its thickest. Definitely not hang on a wall. ... So
- Stand - you have one. We use those with the old 61 "and all were fine, but if you have notgoes back several hundred dollars.
- The screen - nothing wrong with it, but when compared with our old Samsung, which is a bit 'more reflective. Not so, to the point that annoying at night when the lights are on in the room, but sometimes it is remarkable.

Since we already had a state did not want to hang on a "73 TV on the wall and the need to replace the lamp was matched by his energy, go for the WD-73737, without hesitation, and weWe are happy to have done.

Our Setup

A TV of this size normally used in a home theater, and it turns out that is how we use it. We have a satellite box, PS3, dedicated Blu-ray player, a 7.1 channel surround receiver and a Harmony 900 remote. The TV has many inputs including 3 HDMI, but in our case, the installation will start in the speaker jack, connect the HDMI cable to a TV and HDMI connections, I have the Harmony 900be configured to handle the TV was, we were watching TV in 5 minutes out of the box.

Later own, we have some development, but it turned out, had little to adjust. We made sure that the frame rate was set at 120 fps, and the rest have the recommended settings from the website of TV Tweak and not change too much, what recommends. It ended with:

Picture mode: Natural
Color Temperature: Low
Aspect Ratio:Standard
Contrast: 55
Brightness: 36
Color: 31
Hue: 31
Sharpness: 31
Deep Field Imager: Off
Super Resolution: Off
Sharp Edge: Off
Video Noise: Off

The end result is closer to the picture-prefect, as they come.

I have nothing to say about the sound - can simulate "surround sound" with its own speakers - why not use them. Same when it comes to tuning of channels or the creation of "activities". These are complete treatmentSatellite receiver and the Harmony remote, but all functions are available. Same when it comes to the remote, which is pretty small - a beautiful thing - but something can get used to, when it comes to key size (small) and their arrangement.

WARRANTY

An object of this size, this is an important concern, then, is what counts:

- The screen is covered only for 30 (thirty) days.
- Quality assurance of image means that Mitsubishi will correct it ifThey receive less than 99.99% of the pixels on the right. In other words, it should at least 9,999 to 10,000 pixels on the right. On a screen of two million pixels, this means that if you have up to 199 pixels bathroom, Mitsubishi is not obligated to repair televisions.
- Everything else is covered for one year.
- The lamp will be replaced free if they need replacing within the first year.
- Service is provided "in house" If within the coverage of an authorized Mitsubishi. IfAre not liable for the TV, so you better make sure you are in a service area of Mitsubishi.

My Rating

This TV delivers exactly what I wanted and expected: a big, bright, sharp, thanks to 120 fps display very little on fast moving objects blur. Replacing the disadvantages: the need, the lamp, the unorthodox layout of the remote control or other functions are free or very important in my case a counterweight. Not allcould with a TV that is not completely flat, or that life needs an upgrade, but if the main concerns of quality, price, size and Consumption of energy, this TV is hard to beat.

I give the WD-73 737 5 stars, and because I am very satisfied.
