Customer Review

We purchased this TV in Dec 2009 and I wanted to wait a few months before writing a review to see what my impressions are after the initial excitement of owing this television wore off. Now, six months later, the excitement still hasn't worn off. The picture is still fantastic and the images seem so lifelike that, as my son-in-law said when we watched a recent talk show, "you feel like you are in the audience."

I agree with other writers that the picture out of the box was not what I had expected. It was terrible; however, I gave a call to the sales rep where I bought the TV and he led me through some adjustments that really helped. I then went on the web to find some help in calibrating the TV and made a few more adjustments. The results were more than impressive. I would also agree that the remote that comes with the TV is difficult to operate. That said, I have a TiVo HD DVR and have programmed the TV into their remote so I rarely use the Mitsu remote. I disagree that the speakers are useless. Although I have a surround sound system, I listened to the television's speakers at the showroom where I bought the TV and they sounded fine. I also really like the fact that when you add a component, the TV recognizes it and displays on the screen that a new component has been found and suggests a name for that component.

My original intent was to wait and purchase an LCD-LED television when they were available at 65 inches. When I saw this set and the sale price offered during the holidays, I couldn't pass it up. Where else can you get a 73 inch TV for a little over K? My expectation was that I would get a good picture on a huge sized TV for an incredible price. What I got was a TV that produces a fantastic picture on a huge TV for a great price. The bonus is that the television is also 3D ready. When I purchased the set I didn't even give the 3D option a second thought because I believed that 3D TV was a few years away. Was I ever wrong. 3D TV is here, and my TV will be able to display 3D programs! I can't wait. My son lives in London and he recently went to a pub that had several 3D TV's showing a soccer game. He said the picture looked fantastic in 3D (the pub handed out 3D glasses to all of the customers)!

You can pay more for a smaller plasma, LCD, or LDC-LED television but, in my opinion, you will not a better picture. If you have the space, do yourself a favor and get this television.

Amazon just can't get it right! - J. McTighe - Montgomery, Al
Tracked this product for weeks, it was one Amazon plays with the price, sometimes daily. Ordered the product, after the delivery company left with the packaging, I noticed it was damaged on the side, causing the screen to bow out leaving a small area on the side, black. I called Amazon and a woman, set up a replacement to be deliveried and the same company to pick up the damaged set. The replacement arrived today and it was more damaged than the first. The truck driver said it arrived that way, and he told my wife to call Amazon since he could not deliver a clearly damaged product a second time, so he left without picking up the first TV. After contacting Tim at customer service, he explained it was no longer "in stock" and he would process a refund, when they got both TV's back. I have done business with Amazon for many years, and in recent times seen the quality control and customer service go straight down the drain. I called back and spoke to a Nathan, who was not only difficult to understand but arrogant and seemed to be reading from a script. I offered to purchase this TV in a smaller size, but he explained their proceedure was for me to wait on the refund, of course after they picked up the damaged first set, which of course I have to take another day away from the office to wait on the delivey folks to come. It would then be proper for me to order that set. I think I can explain to Amazon what is proper. Keeping my money for now over two weeks, while they made all the mistakes because of poor quality control in shipping goods and a customer service department without one original customer centered thought is not proper. I have shopped at Amazon for years because it was a simple way to get good, quality products at a decent price. That has declined to the point now that they are the Dollar General of the internet, cheap products, no service. I simply don't trust this company with my money. Their word is as good as, well its not that good. Just like Kindle 9.99 Book another place, a good management company will be the following order, these clowns are at your own risk.

Great TV - M. Summers -
This is a very, as TV images that I'm not trying to 3 - D in the super-clear, but HD has to prove herself. In fact, it is not sound jaljochahaji surround sound is great value for money.

Awesome but not perfect - Platiniumshadow - orange park, fl
Well, i had this tv for about a month now and i love it. This tv is money well spent, picture quality on this thing is pretty good. To my eyes only LED tv's will top the video. The preset setting are crap, I strongly sugget to calibrate this tv, I have calibrationd equipment and I could tell you that the default setting are WAY OFF, almost 20% excess blue plus too much brightness. But once you get the picture were it need to be you will be saying WOW. This tv got plenty of adjusments on the advanced section. Modern warfare 2 looks so good in this.

Now for the bad! this tv is best when in front, the steeper the angle the more faded the image and the tv sits lower than i would like to in order to get the best image. the control could have been designed better, you have to play with it for a while to know what leads to what. The spekers sound like the 9.99 walmart pc speakers.

If you are on a budget and want to jump on the BIG HDTV screen wagon this may be Ticket, but I want you to check the performance space and suggest your decision. But in fact, I think not.
