Customer Review

We have wanted to replace our old Toshiba projection TV for a couple of years now. It is 15 years old and though has given us good service and still runs everyday, it was time for an upgrade. We have done all the research on DLP, Plasma and LCD TV's and concluded we wanted a DLP. Especially since about the only thing to go wrong is the lamp and that is a pretty cheap replacement item as far as we're concerned.

Though we wanted a Samsung, we decided on the Mitsubishi as we had a Mits projection before the Toshiba and were happy with that. We ordered this TV from Amazon and it arrived within a week via truck. The delivery driver was very helpful and courteous. The TV arrived safe and sound and well packaged. We had it setup within an hour. The longest time took putting the stand together. And speaking of stand.. a little silicone rubber where the glass slips into the resting slots, goes a long way to keep them in place, otherwise they slip out of place real easy. I suggest buying the cheap HDMI cables off Amazon, when you buy the TV.. I think they were .59 each and they are wonderful and they even arrived before the TV did. If ones that cost 0 are better, I can't see where?

The pic on this TV is mind blowing. It is crystal clear.. in some aspects too clear, especially when someone has a bad complexion!LOL Everyday we are blown away by some new movie, show or advertisement as what a beautiful picture it has. Animated movies are totally awesome.. such as the movies Cars, Ratatouille, Shrek, Igor, Sharkstale, etc. Spectacular. The kids will love it as well as the adults

Though some people have complained about the audio, we really didn't seem to have a problem with it and the only reason we bought a separate dolby surround sound system is for the movie viewing. We have been surround sound buffs for years and enjoy the extra sound benefits of a surround sound system. We just bought a cheap system for around a 0 dollars and it works great with the TV.

The blacks on this TV are black and the white is stark white and bright! It is not heavy and two people can it easily handle. Hookups were easy to do and the manual is extensive. The remote takes a little figuring out but was you get a handle on it, I think it is fine. It would be nice if it were backlit but it's not a deal breaker.

We bought the Square Trade extended warranty so won't know til we have an issue how that pans out. We run a TV just about 24/7 since we are up early and to bed late and actually leave it on all the time, (except for the wee hours of the morning). We have heard it is better to just let them run and what takes the lamp out is the on and off, not actual hours on it. Guess we'll see if it goes much sooner than the 10,000 hours we hear they last?

Just can't give it a bad review at this point. Amazon was great. Shipping and delivery was great and we couldn't be more pleased with the purchase. If this review helps anyone out, I'd say buy it. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you buy this TV. I would like to buy a second one and just stick it away in case this one ever dies.. since they seem to be making less and less of the DLP's as time goes by and frankly I think they have a better picture than any Plasma or LCD I have seen and pretty soon we'll be stuck with one of those when you can't get a DLP anymore. Don't be fooled by the price, it's a great unit for the money! Especially if you get the deal with stand and free shipping!

Hope this review helps with your decision making process! Enjoy!

Best Value and Picture Quality - Jay - Hartselle, Al USA
Wow !!! This set is nothing short of amazing !!! The picture quality is awesome...I have it set to the "natural" setting and it is plenty bright for my taste. The remote does suck a little but hey, I can live with that. The only real downside was the shipping was a little slooooowwww !!! Took a little over two weeks to deliver and the white glove delivery was a joke from CEVA !!!

Great TV. Second Mitusbishi widescreen I've had (65" and now 60"). Liked the 65" so much I got this one. It's awesome.

Great TV for the price - cbarro -
I've had this TV about 3 weeks now. It has a great picture and despite what people say about DLPs not being as bright as other technologies, it's plenty bright even without the "brilliant" mode being enabled. I have not had to reset it since getting it, though it has been a little reluctant to turn on with the remote a couple of times. There are plenty of options for adjusting the picture the way you like it, and the sound is pretty good, though not as good as some I've heard. There is a little speckling on bright white backgrounds. The overall contrast is great and the color quality is amazing, much better than all but the most expensive LCDs I think. Overall I'm very happy with it and I don't think you can get a TV this size and quality in any technology other than DLP. I don't watch a ton of sports, but the TV seems responsive enough to handle fast action without blurring or artifacting.

My peeves with it would be that it has a limited number of inputs. It could really use an S-video as well as a DVI and/or analog RGB. An optical input would be nice too. It could use an extra Y Pb Pr input as well, and a media card reader would be good. Also, the auxiliary inputs on the side are nice, but they don't do me much good as all my gear is on the left of the TV and the inputs are on the right side. I'm also worried about reliability---the lamp I expect to have to replace in the TV's lifetime, but it has fans and I believe a rotating color wheel (DLP technology seems to require one), and the more moving parts, the more things to go wrong. And a new TV should not have faltered when turning on from the remote. So I think I will invest in the extended service plan. Oh, and the remote included with it is fairly decent, but It'd be nice if it lit up in the dark.

But I really haven't had any issues with it other than a couple of quirks, and I would highly recommend it.

Amazon was also nice enough to charge me the discounted rate without hassle when the TV's price dropped the day after I purchased it.
